After this life is over, all the dead will be raised and judged by God according to “the book of life”’ (Rev 20:11-15). “An hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment” (John 5:28-29). There will be no 1,000 years between the resurrection of the righteous and the resurrection of those who have not obeyed the gospel of Christ (2 Thess 1:8). At the last day when Christ will come again, the earth, its elements and everything in it will be burned up. “Everything that is seen is temporal” (2 Cor 4:18;2 Peter 3:10). The word “rapture”’ is not in the Bible, nor is a 1,000 year reign of Christ on this earth.
When Jesus returns, “every eye shall see him” (Rev 1:7). After judgment, the redeemed, whether still living or just raised, will be caught up and meet the Lord in the air (1 Thess 4:17) and shall be with Him through eternity. We shall be changed into a “spiritual body” and will live and praise Him through eternity (I Cor 15:35-55). The wicked and those who fail to “obey the gospel” will go away into eternal punishment (Matt 25:31-46). Those cleansed by the blood await Christ’s glorious appearing (Tit 2:11-14).
