RECONCILED
The Bible says we have access to the grace of God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Read carefully Romans chapters 5 & 6. At just the right time, when we were powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for even a righteous man, but God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. We are justified by His blood and saved from the wrath of God. Though we were God’s enemies because of our sins, we were brought back and reconciled to Him.
Sin entered the world through one man, Adam. Sin reigned in the world because all men sinned. But sin was not taken into account when there was no law. Death reigned in consequence of the sin of Adam, but how much more do we receive the grace of God who provided the amazing gift of righteousness through the man, Jesus Christ! Death came through Adam, then through one act of righteousness by Jesus we can be made righteous through faith in Him, repentance of sin and cleansing in baptism (Mk 16:15-16; Acts 2:38; I Pet 3:21).
God is ready and anxious to receive us, but He is not reconciled to man. Man who has fallen away through sin must be reconciled to God, brought back to Him! “All we like sheep have gone astray” (Isa 3:6). Like the Prodigal son (Lk 15), we must return to the Father.
