DISTURBING VOICES

When a storm is ahead, a good pilot will do what it takes to save his passengers. After repeated warnings through flight attendants, the pilot’s commanding voice comes through loud and clear: “My job is to get you safely home.Your job is to do what I say. Now buckle up!” Was the pilot insensitive? Angry?

WEAK & STRONG

The body of Christ, the church, is made  up of many parts: some are strong older  and well-taught, and others are young  untaught new members called weak  parts (Romans 14:1 -15:9). The well taught  mature Christian is to receive and be gentle  with newcomers from different cultural,  ethical and religious backgrounds. Some things are neither

UNKNOWN PREACHER’S SERMON

You may never know who the  preacher was. You can preach these  3 points! 1 “Let us draw near to God with  a sincere heart in full assurance of  FAITH, having our bddies washed  with pure water.” God is all around  us, but we must “tune in” to the  right frequency to know His presence

ONE

Jesus said: “I pray … that they  all may be one.” (John 17:20-23)  He knew that a kingdom or a house  divided against Itself cannot stand  (Mk 3:24-25). If division ruptures  kingdoms and families, how does It  effect the house of God, the church,  God’s kingdom? We all know that  It Is divided. What can

RESTORATION

Churches of Christ throughout the  world are pleading for the restoration  of the original Christianity of the New  Testament. The word restore means  “to bring back to or put back into a  former or original state” (Webster).  We aim to put back into its original  state the church of Jesus Christ. Through the years there

WAS THE CHURCH BUILT ON PETER

Jesus asked; “Who do people say  I am?” Pater answered: “You are the  Christ, the son of the living God.”  Jesus blessed him for his correct  answer and added: “You are Peter,  and on this rock I will build my church.  I will give you the keys of the kingdom  of heaven…” (Matt 16:15-19) If

REFORM OR RESTORE?

Paul warned early Christians that after  his departure a great apostasy would   come, a falling away from the truth of the   gospel. He told them this departure from   the truth would start within the church   leadership when men would “speak  perverse things, to draw away disciples  after them” (Acts 20:29-31). He called   them “grievous wolves”

SILENCE AND AUTHORITY

Believers in the Bible must decide:  (1) Does God permit everything which  He has not specifically condemned,  or (2) is all that He has not specifically  authorized forbidden? Silence limited in the Old Testament:  (1) Moses was commanded to kill a red  heifer; silence excluded ant or horse  (Num. 19:2). (2) Noah was commanded  to

RESCUE

Heroism is measured by sacrifice.  Some may remember Arland Williams  who lost his life while saving a woman  from an icy Potomac River crash,  Jan. 13, 1982. Or Eric Pienaar who  rescued a woman from the Hudson  River on Feb. 11, 2009. And now, the  rescue of Capt. Phillips from pirates. The greatest story ever

EASTER

“EASTER” is not a Bible term,  and its observance as a special  religious day did not come until  hundreds of years later. The early  disciples had the communion,  Lords Supper, on the first day  of every week (resurrection day)  in memory of Christ’s blood and  body given on the cross (Acts 20:7:  I Cor 11:23-29).
