ONE LORD

There is “One Lord” (Eph 4:5). This is none other than the “Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 1:24). He is “King of kings and Lord of lords! Peter addressed the multitudes on the Day of Pentecost, telling them: “Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him … by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge.” He said they had put Him to death “by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead because it was not possible for death to keep its hold on Him.” He then concluded, “God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ” (read all of Acts 2). “All authority” was given to Jesus. He commanded His apostles to “go and preach the gospel to every creature,” promising forgiveness of sins to those who believed, repented of sins and were baptized (immersed, Acts 2:38; Mk 16:15-16). Jesus must reign as Lord of all until the last enemy, death, is destroyed (I Cor 15:20-28). Friend, submit to the Lord Jesus today! Confess His name today and He will confess your name before the Father.
