SOUL WINNERS

Here are reasons Christians should be telling others about Christ and His terms of salvation. I. In the Great Commission of Jesus, He commands disciples to teach others, to baptize them and to teach all of His commands (Mt 28:18-20). II. To be like Christ, our teacher (Mt 10:25): “The student is to be like his teacher,” and to “follow in His steps” (I Pet 2:21). He had a passion for souls. III. To express a holy impulse of the soul. A saved person wants to bring others to Christ … especially close friends and family. IV. To be like the primitive church. Read the first 7 chapters of the book of Acts and see their zeal in “preaching the word” (Acts 8:1-5; 11:19).
V. For self preservation. We cannot be fruitless branches, or else we will be cut off (John 15: 1-8). Disciples ‘glorify’ God by bearing much fruit to His glory. VI. The greatest work one can do is to “deliver a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.” (I Pet 4:8) VII. It brings joy to the soul-winner. Paul called those he brought to Christ his “joy and crown” (Phil 4:1). There is “no greater joy!” (3 Jn 3:3) VIII. God’s desire is to “have all men saved and come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim 2:3-5).
