THE GOOD WAY
“Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way. But they said, ‘We will not walk therein’ ” (Jer 6:14-16). In spite of man’s advances in many realms of knowledge, only God’s word, the Bible, has the solution to man’s spiritual problems. Man cannot direct his own steps (Jer 10:23), but must seek guidance through the Scriptures (2 Tim 3:16-17; I Thes 2:13). We look for “words which the Spirit teaches” (I Cor 2:11-13). The Bible must be accepted “not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God” (I Thes 2:13). Jesus promised, “I will build my church” (Mt 16:18). Only one was “according to the eternal purpose of God” (Eph 3:10-11). He shed His blood for that one church (Ac 20:28). He is the Savior of it alone (Ac 2:47; Eph 5:23). God’s purpose is that all men be reconciled to Himself in that one pre-denominational church (Eph 1:22-23; 2:14-16). God killed two important priests, not because they were wicked, but because they chose their own ideas in worship instead of choosing the ONE GOOD WAY that God commanded (Lev 10).
