FOLLY ON FACEBOOK
“Learn to co-exist… don’t hate the people who live a different way or who believe that another way is right for them. Quit trying to control others…” This Facebook writer represents the way of the world: “Let me live the way I want. Don’t bother me.” Perhaps this is your own granddaughter or grandson? The reason we preach Christ is because we love all people and want them to be happy in this life and saved eternally. The Bible says, The world’s way “SEEMS right, but the end of it is the way of death” (Prov 14:12). Moses rejected the pleasures of Egypt and chose God’s way (Heb 11:24-25; Rom 1:24-32). I decided at an early age to believe in Jesus, to repent and turn away from sin, then was baptized (immersed) to have my sins forgiven, “washed away” (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; Rom 6:3-4,17).
I do not hate people who are different. I love them. I want them to know “the truth” (I Tim, 2:4). Jesus said He is “the way, the truth and the life,” the only way to heaven (John 4:24; 8:32). Christians are honored to speak personally with anyone (Acts 20:20). We love all. We have no desire to control others’ decisions, but ask for opportunity to show them God’s way, the “abundant life” that leads to heaven (Jn 10:10).
