GOD JOINED

It was God’s plan, not man’s, that certain things be joined together. “What God has joined together, let not man separate,” said the Son of God (Mt 19:3-9). We must not change God’s word (Jer 10:23; Isa 55:8-9).

1 MAN AND WOMAN.  Marriage is God’s design, is permanent, separated only by death (Eph 5:22-33). Homosexuality is severely condemned in the Bible. Separation (divorce) is allowed for only one cause (Mt 19:1-12). Any deviation from God’s plan is “wickedness” and “perversion” (Rom 1:26-32).

2 CHRIST AND THE CHURCH. According to God’s word, being a Christian and refusing to be a part of His church, is to separate what God has joined together (Eph 4:31-32; I Cor 12:13; Col 1:18-23; Acts 2:47). Jesus is the “head of the body, the church.” When we obey Christ, we accept Him as Head and also His body, the church. God joined them together.

3 CHRISTIANS TO CHRISTIANS. All Christians are “members one of another,” and they cannot say: “I have no need of you.” (I Cor 12:21-26) We love one another as members of God’s family.

4 LORD’S DAY AND WORSHIP ASSEMBLY. The believer who refuses or neglects to meet with other brothers and sisters on the Lord’s Day for worship, divides what God has joined together (Ac 2:42; 20:7; I Cor 16:1-2; Heb 10:25).

5 FAITH AND OBEDIENCE. Faith only is dead (Ja 2; Ac 2:38).

6 PURITY OF LIFE AND WORSHIP. Gal 5:19-21; I Cor 6:17-20).
