THE PRICE OF THE CHURCH
Do you think Christ is important, but the church is not important?
Just think: The value of anything is determined by what it cost. The church cost God His Son, and it cost the Son his blood. God planned for Jesus to purchase His church with His blood (Acts 20:28: I Cor 6:20; I Peter 1 :18-19). God would not have given His only begotten Son to suffer and die in order to purchase a non-essential institution.
Jesus is the only head of His church (no popes, presidents, etc). It is His body (Col 1 :18; Eph 1 :22-23). There is no salvation for any of us outside of Christ’s body, His church. To be “in Christ” is to be in His church. Just as fast as we are saved. God adds us to His church (Acts 2:47). There is no way to get into Christ but by baptism (immersion, Gal 3:26-27) when our sins are forgiven (Mk 16:16; Ac 2:38; I Peter 3:21). The church saves no one but Christ saves only those in the church (Eph 5:23). His church has no connection with Protestant or Catholic denominations which men started much later.
