OBITUARY

Jesus Christ, 33, of Nazareth died Friday near Jerusalem on Mount Calvary, also known as Golgotha, betrayed by one of His close friends, Judas. Jesus was crucified by the Romans as ordered by governor Pontius Pilate. The causes of death were crucifixion, severe torture and loss of blood. He wore a crown of thorns while crowds bowed and mocked Him as King of the Jews.
Jesus was a descendant of Abraham, of the house of David. Mary was his devoted mother. He often proved God to be his true Father by numerous miracles and wonders. He was born in Bethlehem. Survivors: His mother, His faithful apostles and numerous disciples. He was self-educated and spent His last three years as a teacher.
He also healed many sick people, fed the hungry and helped the poor. He is most noted for telling parables about His Father’s kingdom and performing amazing miracles such as feeding 5,000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish and healing a man born blind. At His last supper He foretold His death. Joseph of Arimathea donated a stone grave. Pilate ordered a boulder to be rolled in front of the tomb, sealed and guarded by Roman soldiers.
