WHAT SIN CAN DO
“Be watchful: Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (I Pet 5:8). He may attack you and: 1. Make you a slave to sin (Jn 8:34; Rom 6:16-17; Col 1:13). If we are not with Christ, we are against Him (Mk 9:40). 2. Separate you from God, like Adam and Eve the purest, Samson the strongest, Solomon the wisest (Gen 3, Jud 16:20; Prov 5). 3. Rob you of strength to do good, like Samson, Achan and all Israel (Josh 7). 4. Deceive you, for the devil is a deceiver and a liar (Jn 8:44; Rev 3:9; Heb 3:12-13). 5. Make your way hard, like the Prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32; Prov 12:17). 6. Destroy all in you that is good and righteous, like Judas changed and hanged himself (Mk 14:43-50). 7. Catch you like a contagious disease, like king David who lusted, committed adultery, murdered Uriah (II Sam 12), bringing shame upon his victim (witness champion Tiger Woods). 8. Blinds you, hardens your heart and leaves a scar that takes away your influence for good (Heb 3:12-13). 9. Damns your soul in hell (Rom 6:23; Mt 25: 46), unless you repent and obey Jesus.
