BOLD SPEECH
In today’s world, the politically correct thing is to either keep quiet, or to agree to disagree. But what about God’s Holy Word? Should we not be bold and not ashamed when our Bibles plainly speak the truth? We all want to go to heaven. Paul wrote, “I am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation” (Rom 1:16).
Examples: The Bible teaches of the one church, not many (Eph. 4:5). The Bible teaches that both faith and baptism (immersion) are essential for salvation (Mark 16:16). The Bible says that adulterers, homosexuals (gays), and drunkards will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 6:9-10; Rom 1:26-27). We commend the Robertsons of Duck Dynasty for boldly speaking the truth, even with possible financial loss. Their reward will be in heaven! The Bible teaches that marriage is between a man and a woman. The Bible teaches that we are to partake of the Lord’s Supper on the first day of every week (Acts 20:7), etc.
We must boldly and without shame warn others so that everyone can understand its truths. “Lord, enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness” (Acts 4:29). God does not give us a choice of what to believe or obey. The difference between accepting the truth or accepting error will ultimately be the difference between Heaven and Hell.
