VISIONS?

“Do you believe in visions?” She said she had visions from God, then asked if I believe we can receive visions today?
My answer: Joseph Smith said he received a vision from God in 1830 resulting in the Mormon Church. Mary Baker Eddy said she received a vision from God; the result was the Christian Science religion (1879). Men claimed to have visions around 1900 and the result: scores of Pentecostal charismatic denominations.
The sole standard of authority in the church established by Christ is His word recorded in Scripture. Paul wrote about the headship of Jesus: “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church” (Eph 1:22). “All authority (power) is given unto me in heaven and in earth,” Jesus said (Mt 28:18). He speaks to us only through the Scriptures given through the apostles (Jn 14:26; 15:26; 6:13). This gives us “everything we need for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim3:16-17).
Men who make laws and creeds larger or smaller than the New Testament are “cursed” (Gal 1:6-10; 2 Pet 1:3-4; Jude 3),
authorizing strange worship, doctrines, names. God is not the author of confusion (I Cor 14:33).

Ask for Old & New law: “VISIONS?”
